A Story + A Green Wall = 1 Amazing Transformed Digital Story

Picture
Transforming learning through digital stories by building on creativity of a child's imagination and making them apart of their creation.

Creating a Digital Story in front of the Green-Screen is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. Have a story.

2. Create illustrations either digitally or scan original artwork.  You can even use photographs.
3. Record your story in front of a Green Wall.
4. Put it all together in iMovie.
5. Student Examples

Visit the K-12 Online Conference the week of Oct. 28th through Nov. 1st to view my presentation and demonstration on how to create 1 Amazing Transformed Digital Story.

Tips for Recording:

  • Recored in a quiet place.
  • Make sure there is plenty of light.
  • Try adding a light behind the person recording in front of the Green-Screen.
  • Backup your illustrations, pictures, and recordings.

iMovie Has Updated

In the world of technology, if you blink something changed or received an update.  I discovered that on October 25th that my iMovie updated to version 10.0.  It has a different look and feel but still has the ability to do the Green-Screen effect.

You still have to drag and drop your background image or video 1st on the storyboard.  Then you drag and drop the video or image you are preforming the Green-Screen effect on top of your background image or video.  Select the image or video you are preforming the Green-Screen effect on and choose adjust.  After you selected adjust you will click on the 1st icon, it looks like two speech bubbles.  Click on the drop down menu and choose Green/Blue Screen.  Pesto your background image or video is now behind your subject in the Green-Screen image or video.
